What To Do With Your Furry Friend At Lake Como

We all know that Lake Como is a popular tourist destination, thanks to its stunning scenery in every corner, the “dolce vita” style and the warm welcome smile from local people.

But if you're planning a trip to Lake Como with your furry companion, what can you do? Where are you allowed to go? And were, not?

There are plenty of activities you can enjoy together.
Here are a few suggestions for things to do in Lake Como with your dog (at Lakeside, we, all have done once one of these things with our beloved 4 legs tiny friends!):

Pepito scouting for new paths around the Alpe!

Take a hike: The surrounding hills of Lake Como offer numerous hiking trails with breathtaking views. Many of these trails are dog-friendly, so you can enjoy the scenery together. The one we like the most, thanks to its flat and nice (long) walking, is the one that goes up to Alpe di Lenno. Galbiga area and Monte Crocione are going to be real fun for you both! Scouting for fossils, entering an old Trincea tunnel, eating local food overlooking the beauty of the Lake: this is going to be one of the best days for you both!  Paw-proof!

Visit the beaches: Lake Como has several public beaches where you and your dog can enjoy the sun and water. Some of these beaches also offer rental equipment for water sports and picnicking and all dogs are welcome! Pepito, for example, love swimming in the lake! Here he is, as a little fish, swimming in the beautiful beach of Rezzonico (psss .. we'll let you in on a secret, the hidden stones underwater are the most beautiful to play with!);

Explore the towns: Lake Como is home to several charming towns which are perfect for a leisurely stroll with your dog. Make sure to bring water and clean up after your pet. Hey, don’t worry if you forgot the cookies at home: Lake Como is surrounded by many four-legged lovers, and believe us when we say that we always have pockets full of little cookies for everyone!

Who said you can’t have a walk while snowing? Here we are still in Plesio, around the area called ‘Noo.

Enjoy a boat tour: Lake Como is best explored by boat, and many tour companies allow dogs on board. This is a great way to see the sights and get some fresh air while spending quality time with your furry friend. The public ferry service, however, may require you to wear a muzzle on your dog. Be sure to have it with you, even if the issue is obnoxious!

Have you ever been in the mountains of Valle Intelvi? Here is what you are missing, some fairy tail panorama!

Visit the parks: Lake Como has several parks, including the ones of Villa Carlotta, Villa Melzi, Villa olmo (to mention a few) where you and your dog can play and relax. Be sure to follow park rules and keep your dog on a leash at all times.

It is so nice to explore Lake Como this way! Here we are in Menaggio, the old romanic path that goes from Loveno area up to Plesio!

Overall, Lake Como is a dog-friendly destination with plenty of activities for you and your furry companion to enjoy. Whether taking a hike, visiting the beaches, or exploring the towns, you're sure to have a great time in this beautiful place.

If you are planning to visit Menaggio or Argegno, remember to stop by our offices for a hello: your 4-legged friend will be happy to see how much love we have for him and how many cookies we hide under the couch.

Here you can really understand who’s the real boss at Lakeside!

A bowl of fresh water is always guaranteed, accompanied by kisses and cuddles (we apologize in advance to the owners, but in this case we will not be able to be professional and serious!).
